Brian’s Loppylugs

November 7, 2007

Brian LuxAnyone with a small child aged 4 to 9 will be wise to get their hands on Loppylugs, a new children’s story book launched yesterday. I had the pleasure of attending the launch yesterday and was dined by the author, Llandudno writer, Brian Lux. Brian, a former dentist, and big in the Dental Practitioners Association (president in 2006) met me in the excellent website Ideas4writers.co.uk a few years ago and he popped along to my own book signing in 2005. Loppylugs is a delightful tale inspired by Cas, the better-behaved of his two dogs at home. The launch of Loppylugs was at his local primary school in Llandudno. The photograph shows Brian about to read the book to over 80 Welsh children, who were eager to help him read and ask questions at the end.

In fact the questions are quite illuminating. They were keen to know what the dogs ate. They insisted that Brian writes another book about his new dog, which, as I know from having him leap up at me, is a cross between a daschund and a sheepskin rug. Have you ever seen a long-ragged-haired sausage-dog?

A link to see the book and purchase it is here.

The illustrations and cover art are beautifully drawn by the drop-dead gorgeous Helen Lake. Her contact is on Brian’s Loppylugs website above.

I have to congratulate Brian and Helen on an excellent afternoon and may your sales soar!
