Last night it rained so much a large fire caused problems in the city centre. Crazy? But it’s only because I listen to local radio in order to distract me from the routine brain-numbing activity of shaving that I knew the city prevailed in holding up the traffic (except bicycles – hah!). I told my wife as stumbled out of the bedroom – we should never have bought a mattress, which has a memory better than mine – and shrieked at the news. Anyone would think it was my fault her hair needs scupting every day and that she can’t decide on what to consume for lunch so I can construct it in time to hurl it into the car boot as she drives off – then reverses to collect her notes for the day.
Several friends have sent me screenwriting guides and advice. I have some hours of reading before launching into screenwriting mode, but not today. It would be silly to start such a project on Left Luggage while I have yet to receive responses from three agents and a publisher. And then Exit, pursued by a Bee needs completing. The next project I promised myself is to start a fantasy, Xaghra’s Revenge based on the island of Gozo and the spirit of the bucaneer Dragut and his descendents.
So much to do.. so little time.
